Business Days Calculator
Count the working days (Monday–Friday) between two dates. Optionally subtract holidays. Both the start and end dates are included.
End date is before the start date.
How business days are counted
This tool walks every date from the start to the end (inclusive) and counts the ones that fall on a weekday. Weekends are excluded automatically. If you tell it how many public holidays land on weekdays in that span, it subtracts those too.
Business-day counts matter for deadlines like shipping windows, payment terms, and statutory notice periods, which usually run on working days rather than calendar days.
Frequently asked questions
A business day (or working day) is any weekday — Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. Public holidays are also typically excluded; you can subtract them with the holidays field.
Yes. This calculator counts inclusively — both the start date and the end date are part of the range. So a Monday-to-Friday range is 5 business days.
Enter how many holidays fall on weekdays within your range in the holidays field, and the tool subtracts them from the business-day total. It does not know each country’s holiday calendar, so you supply the count.
Many deadlines — shipping, payments, notice periods, and processing times — are defined in business days because work happens on weekdays. Counting calendar days would overstate how much working time is actually available.
