Luxembourg Overtime Rules
Luxembourg's standard week is 40 hours. Overtime is preferably given as compensatory rest (1.5 hours per hour worked); where it is paid, the supplement is +40%.
- Overtime is normally compensated with 1.5 hours of rest per overtime hour.
- Where rest cannot be given, overtime is paid at the normal wage +40% (1.4×).
- Senior management is excluded; the 40% supplement applies to other employees.
This applies the +40% rate used when compensatory rest is not given; a collective agreement can set a higher rate.
