Latvia Overtime Rules
Latvia's standard week is 40 hours. Overtime is paid at a +100% supplement — double the regular hourly rate — one of the highest statutory rates in the EU.
- Overtime is paid at a supplement of at least +100% of the hourly wage (i.e. 2× pay).
- A collective agreement may set a supplement of not less than 50% instead, where one applies.
- Overtime requires the employee's written consent except in specified urgent cases.
This applies the +100% statutory supplement. Where a collective agreement applies, the minimum supplement can be 50% — check the agreement that covers you.

In Latvia, overtime above 40 hours a week is paid at a statutory premium of 100%. Higher rates can apply for night, Sunday and public-holiday work. See the rules below for the exact figures.
