Bulgaria Overtime Rules
Bulgaria's standard week is 40 hours. Overtime is paid with a premium of at least +50% on working days, rising to +75% on rest days and +100% on public holidays.
- +50% for overtime on normal working days.
- +75% on weekly rest days and +100% on public holidays.
- Overtime is restricted by law (limited days and hours per year) and banned for some categories of worker.
This applies the +50% weekday minimum; rest-day and holiday work is higher. Bulgaria adopted the euro on 1 January 2026. A collective agreement can set higher rates.
